Nursery Inspiration

I swear I spend most of the time researching practical things that we'll need once we have a baby, but here are just a few things that have inspired me lately.  I don't know if any of it really goes together, but I'm calling my nursery vision: neutral mid-century modern scandinavian (I like adjectives).  :)

2. Chevron crib sheet
3. Knitted pouf
4. Night light (just bought this!)
5. Shanna Murray decal

8. Boat mobile (sold, but I wonder if I could make one myself)

30 Weeks

How far along? 30 weeks, 5 days
Baby fact: Baby weighs at least 3 pounds (as much as a head of cabbage)
Symptoms: swollen calves at the end of the day, heart burn, and ok, fine, a few mood swings...so what?
I should also mention that a few weeks ago I walked out of the grocery store without paying for my items (some bread and carrots).  Just walked out.  Luckily I realized before I got to the car, turned around and snuck into line.  No one said anything.
Movement: Yep.  It's more consistent now and a few people have been able to put their hand on my belly to feel him moving around.  I still don't understand how I can feel kicks on each side of my stomach at the same time.  But it's pretty exciting!
Sleep: I'm on a pretty good streak of sleeping through the night!
Dreams: A few nights ago I dreamt that I watched someone else give birth to my baby.  He looked just like me when I was a newborn and they handed him off to me as soon as he came out of the mystery person.  After all of these labor classes we've been attending, that's probably my mind's way of being in denial that it will actually  happen.
Cravings: Pineapple/banana/coconut milk smoothies, and Boom Noodle is my best friend.
Favorite moments: There have been many!  Celebrating a soon-to-be mother's day dinner, going to yoga classes, and attending my first shower, hosted by my coworkers.  Oh, and my dear friends Mckenzie and Michael's engagement!
On the to-do list: Create a birth plan, contact a few pediatricians, organize...
Looking forward to: Summer (4 weeks of school left), sunshine (I hope!), and closing on our very first home.

Tina's Shower

A few weeks ago we had the pleasure of throwing a baby shower for Tina, who is expecting her second little girl in less than a month.  We decided on a button/handmade theme, but mostly filled Ginger's house with some of our favorite things: burlap, flowers, mason jars, and paper straws.  It was a beautiful sunny, Seattle day.
We enjoyed lemonade, quiche, a pear tart, fruit, cupcakes (with fondant buttons) and Oreo "pops," made by Ginger.
Ginger and little Julianne were such gracious hosts. :)  We spent most of the time eating, watching Tina open gifts, and decorating onesies (which is becoming a tradition at these showers).
Tina's sister, niece and mom were able to join us.  And guests took home crocheted coasters (inspired by favors I received at a friend's birthday party) :)
This is such an exciting time for the ladies in our small group.  Three babies on the way this summer!  Here we are in the classic holding our bellies pose. :)
We love you Tina, and can't wait to meet Baby Girl Dekoker.

April Photos

April was such a fun-filled month, with lots of trips and time with friends.  I feel so blessed.
May will be busy in its own way.  Looking forward to it!
