Well, we're almost at 10 months, but I am sneaking this one in. We are loving this age and all that we are learning about Mr. Miles.
Miles is a mover. He doesn't like to cuddle for long, and usually wiggles his way out and takes off for one of his favorite things: shoes, doors, and ledges he can pull up on. He loves playing with doors, and delights in hiding behind them. When I'm prepping food in the kitchen, he often pulls up on my leg, looks up at me, and waits for me to pick him up. Things have changed a lot since the days of tummy time and the baby swing, but I love watching his independence and personality grow.
Miles is an observer. He loves watching kids and dogs at parks, and has always enjoyed being outside. His first reaction to new things is almost always a cautious one. Everything is met with a bit of hesitancy, but after some time, he usually warms up. Examples of this include his carseat, bath tub, highchair, new foods, and even the swings at the playground.
At his 9 month appointment, the nurse gave Miles a shot, and for the first time, he didn't cry. Overall, our somewhat fickle baby has calmed down, and is much more agreeable during the day. At the same time, there have been some tough days of teething (his top two eye teeth are coming in) and many moments of trying to decipher what his new screeches and squawks could mean (usually he wants something that has been taken away).
Miles loves his Grandma Ronda. When she comes over, he lights up and bounces up and down in her arms.
This Mother's Day, Steve and Miles woke me up with flowers and a balloon. Miles was wearing an "I love mommy" onesie too. We spent the afternoon at my mom's house where Miles also got to visit with his great grandparents, who are back from Arizona.
Miles is definitely a lucky baby. He has so many family members and friends who love him (although I realize he doesn't seem to appreciate it in this photo). :)
We love you too little guy! Happy 9 (almost 10!) months!
